About She Shares

She Shares, launched in March 2012, is a unique conversation series featuring trailblazing women leaders who have created a lasting impact for women in California and beyond. Our speakers candidly address key issues related to their careers, industries and personal experiences.

Each conversation is a candid and unrehearsed exchange with a moderator. She Shares events provide an opportunity for business and cultural leaders, public figures, elected officials and other professionals to network and to be inspired by the personal journey of the featured speakers. It also provides an opportunity for the next generation of women leaders to be mentored by accomplished professionals through our year long mentorship program.

Our goal is to unite women in business and provide an opportunity for them to learn from the personal stories of women who have reached the top of their respective fields.

Tamara Torlakson

Tamara Torlakson has been with She Shares since the beginning in 2012. Tamara oversees the entire She Shares program including the events, program, and mentorship program. In addition to She Shares, Tamara specializes in designing and producing high-impact events that help clients advance their communications goals, enhance their brands, and expand their networks. She guides clients throughout the planning, execution and follow-up processes to ensure that events are seen not as an end in and of themselves but as a means to achieve broader strategic objectives. Tamara lives in Sacramento with her husband and two children and can be found running in her spare time!

The California Center for Civic Participation (CalCenter) - She Shares Fiscal Agent & Partner

Founded in 1981, CalCenter has been a hub for participatory democracy for over four decades in California. Today, our events and programs continue to carry our original purpose, which is to support youth and families to be active and informed participants in their communities. CalCenter serves as the fiscal agent and a partner to She Shares, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women in leadership roles. Together with She Shares, CalCenter strives to create a more inclusive and equitable society by providing resources, mentorship, and opportunities for women to engage in civic and community activities. At CalCenter, we believe that a thriving democracy depends on the active involvement of all its citizens, regardless of age, gender, or background. Through our various initiatives, workshops, and collaborations, we aim to foster a sense of civic responsibility and inspire individuals to contribute to the betterment of California and beyond.
